This lower shell gasket (Part #R1795) sits between the lower shell and the motor area of your Rainbow D3, sealing the two housings, and it fits the Rainbow/Rexair D3. The seal keeps water and air from passing between the sections.
In a water-filtration vacuum this joint matters a great deal. A worn gasket can let dirty water escape the basin or allow air to leak in, which weakens the suction that pulls air through the water bath. A fresh gasket reestablishes a tight seal so the basin holds and airflow stays strong.
