These fan housing retainer clips (Part #R1423B) hold the fan housing assembly together inside your Rainbow D3 motor unit, and they fit the Rainbow/Rexair D3. The clips keep the housing halves aligned around the spinning fan stack.
If a clip snaps, the housing can shift out of position and the fan blades start to contact the housing walls. That contact produces a harsh grinding noise and can chew up the fan in short order, turning a small part into a major repair. Installing fresh clips locks the housing back into alignment and protects the fans.
