This Dirt Devil bottom plate is an OEM replacement for Royal 14 inch metal upright vacuums in the 880, 608, and 7710 series. The bottom plate maintains proper airflow and correct brush roll clearance at the nozzle, which is where an upright actually does its cleaning.
A cracked or warped plate lets suction bleed off and allows debris to escape around the brush roll rather than being pulled into the machine. If the vacuum has started leaving lines of debris behind, or the plate shows visible damage, this part is the fix.
Compatibility covers Dirt Devil 089000 and Royal 089000, 1010, 1018Z, 1020, 1025, 1028Z, 1030DZ, 1030Z, and other Royal metal uprights. These classic metal machines are worth maintaining, and genuine parts keep them cleaning the way they were built to.
