Part 1672270000 fits Royal's 14 inch metal-body upright line, spanning the 880, 608 and 7710 series and the wider Royal range listed below. The plate seals the nozzle floor around the brush roll, so airflow moves through the machine instead of leaking out around the roller.
If this plate cracks or warps, suction bleeds off right at that seal, letting debris slip past the brush roll rather than get pulled inside. A vacuum leaving thin lines of debris on a pass, or a plate showing a visible crack or warp, points straight to this part.
