The Dirt Devil Belt Lifter Tool (Part #1880262000, also 0100) is an OEM service tool that fits all Dirt Devil models except the 888, along with many Royal uprights. It hooks the belt over the brush roll pulley so you can seat a new belt without prying or straining the parts.
Changing a stretched or broken belt by hand is awkward and risks damaging the brush roll or motor shaft. This tool makes the swap quick and clean, turning a shop visit into a few minutes of work at home.
