Rexair Rainbow Switch Inter...

Product details
An E2 that will not power on at all, even with a known-good cord and outlet, is not always a dead motor or a bad main switch. These machines use a safety interlock that has to be satisfied before the motor will run, and when the interlock fails the symptom looks exactly like a machine with no power reaching it whatsoever. Part R7370 is the replacement interlock switch across the Rainbow E and E2 series.
An interlock is there so the machine will not run with a part missing or out of position, and that protection is the reason an otherwise healthy machine can sit completely dead. People chasing a dead Rainbow often replace the main switch or the cord first, spending time and money on parts that were never the actual fault.
Before ordering a replacement, take out everything the machine expects to be in place, the water pan included, and reseat it fully. A component sitting slightly off its mount reads exactly like a failed interlock even when the switch itself is fine, so it is worth ruling that out before any part gets bought.
The same switch is also listed for Oreck's DMS2000 and DMS2000Q. Pull the plug first and keep it out before going near the switch, and note how the leads sit before disconnecting anything so the new switch goes back the same way.
