This genuine OEM Rexair-Rainbow interlock plunger (Part #R7208) fits the E series and E2. The plunger works with the machine's safety interlock, allowing the vacuum to run only when the components are properly seated together.
A plunger that has worn, stuck, or broken can keep the interlock from closing, so the vacuum runs intermittently or will not turn on at all even when everything is assembled. A faulty interlock also defeats the safety it is meant to provide. Fitting the correct plunger restores reliable operation of the interlock.
