Part R4889 is the pigtail cord for the RainbowMate RM-2, the powered nozzle used with the Rexair-Rainbow D4SE. It is the short length of wiring that carries power the last stretch into the nozzle's motor, and it is sold on its own rather than as part of a hose.
A cord that has frayed insulation, a cracked jacket, or worn contacts at either end is both a shock risk and a common cause of a nozzle that cuts in and out or will not run at all. Wiring in this position flexes every time the hose is moved, which is why it wears before the rest of the machine does.

Inspect both ends for scorching or looseness before you reinstall, since a bad connection will damage a new cord the same way it damaged the old one. Swap out wiring at the first sign of wear rather than waiting for it to fail outright.
Route the new cord the same way the old one ran, clear of the hose's flex points, so it is not pinched every time the hose bends. A cord pinched at the same spot repeatedly is how a sound replacement fails early rather than lasting as long as it should.
