This genuine OEM Rainbow brush roll (Part #R4873) measures 6-1/16 inches and fits the D4 Power Mate along with RainbowMate models RM-2E and RM-2. The brush roll spins against the carpet, and its bristles agitate the fibers to lift embedded dirt into the airflow.
A brush roll with frayed, flattened, or shortened bristles can no longer agitate carpet effectively, so debris stays behind after each pass. Wrapped hair and thread also bind the roll and drag on the belt. Installing the correct 6-1/16-inch brush roll restores full agitation and pickup.
