This cord dump kit is the cord storage hardware from the Oreck UK30300 Conquer uprights, part 430000205, and it also fits the UK30300COM and UK30300PC.
It does two things: holds the cord tight against the machine, and lets go of the whole coil when you want the full run. When the hook cracks or the mechanism loses its grip, the cord slides off mid-job into whatever you are cleaning around, and it will not stay coiled for storage either. On commercial machines this shows up quickly, because the cord is taken down and put back several times a day.
Replacing the assembly is a more durable fix than gluing a broken hook back on, and it fits the original mounting points. Unplug the vacuum before working around the cord.
