Part 430000999 is the carry handle detent used across a wide swath of the Hoover and Oreck commercial line, the small catch that holds the carry handle firmly in place instead of letting it move under load.
Evidence lists it for the Hoover CH50200, CH50300 and CH95519, and for Oreck models including the BK95519, U2000RB-1, U7000ECB, U7010ECS, UK30100 and UK30300, among other Oreck commercial uprights in the same compatibility group.
A detent wears down with use, and a worn one stops holding: the handle goes loose in the hand instead of staying put. A handle in that state is awkward to lift by, and it can shift without warning while the machine is being carried up or down stairs or loaded into a service vehicle.
Replacing the detent restores that hold, so the rest of the carry-handle assembly does not have to be replaced along with it. It is a cheap part to keep on the shelf where a fleet of these machines is in nightly service and the handles get used hard.
