The cord dump is the release-and-wrap hardware that lets an Oreck upright shed its cord in one motion and take it back for storage. Part 430000201 covers the Control and Command machines: the UK30100, UK30100PC, UH30100COM, UK30200, UK30200PC and UK30270.
These parts live on a hinge and a spring, and both wear. The wrap stops holding tension so the coil sags off the machine, or the release no longer catches and the cord dumps itself while you are working. Cracked plastic at the mount is common on machines that have been stored for years with the cord pulled tight around it.
The kit replaces the mechanism at its original fixings, which is a more durable answer than persuading a broken hook to hold. Unplug the vacuum before working on the cord system.
