This is the complete Kirby motor assembly for the AV2 polymer base, part 101318A, supplied with the seal and the fan already fitted. Buying it assembled avoids the awkward business of transferring a fan onto a bare motor shaft, which is where most home motor swaps go wrong.
Kirby motors are long-lived, so by the time one fails the machine has usually done years of work. The warnings are a burning smell within a minute of switching on, a bearing rumble or high whine that rises with speed, or a motor that hesitates and then refuses to start at all. Suction fading while the belt and fan look perfectly sound points the same way.
The assembly fits the Kirby Avalir, Avalir 2 and Avalir Platinum, and the Sentria and Sentria II. Check that your machine has the polymer base before ordering, since that is what this version is built for.
