This genuine OEM belt lifter bearing serves the belt lifter mechanism across many Kirby uprights. The bearing lets the lifter disengage the brush roll belt for bare-floor cleaning and transport, then reset it, without wearing the belt.
When the bearing stiffens or fails, the lifter lever turns hard or no longer engages and disengages the belt cleanly, leaving the belt driven when it should be free. A correct factory bearing restores full lever action and protects the belt.
