These genuine OEM brush inserts are the 4.5 inch bristle strips for the Riccar RSL5 and Clean Max ULW, along with the Riccar R10P and R10S and Simplicity R10P and R10S. Each insert slides into a channel on the brush roll to restore a fresh row of bristles without replacing the whole roller.
Insert bristles wear down, bend, and trim unevenly over time, and once they no longer grip the carpet the roller loses its cleaning bite. Fresh inserts restore the agitation needed to lift dirt from the pile. Replacing the strips is far cheaper than a complete brush roll.
