The transmission is what makes a Kirby push itself. Part 552306S is the drive unit for the Kirby Sentria upright, and it is specifically the version with the gray belt pulley, the one that runs the 554104S drive belt. Getting that pairing right matters more than anything else when you order, because the pulley versions are not interchangeable.
A failing transmission announces itself underfoot. The machine goes heavy and has to be shoved rather than guided, the drive engages in one direction only, or it grinds and then does nothing at all when you press the pedal forward. By that stage the belt is rarely the whole story.
Check your pulley colour and belt number against the machine before ordering. This unit is for the Sentria; other Kirby generations use their own transmissions.
