This genuine OEM transmission primary sprocket (part 550505) drives the self-propelled system on Kirby Sentria and Avalir uprights. The sprocket transfers power from the motor into the transmission, turning the geartrain that pushes and pulls the machine for you.
A sprocket with worn or chipped teeth slips against the drive, so the self-propel feature stutters, drags, or quits and the vacuum turns heavy and hard to push. A fresh sprocket restores clean tooth engagement and smooth, steady power drive.
