This right-hand bottom plate latch (part 35446004) fits Hoover Convertible uprights, including models 1030, U7019, U7021, U7039, U7041, U7043.1, and U7077. It secures the right side of the nozzle bottom plate so the brush roll housing stays closed while you clean.
A latch that has cracked or lost spring tension lets the bottom plate sag open during use, and air then bypasses the nozzle instead of pulling through the brush roll. The result is lost suction right at the floor. A new right-hand latch snaps the plate shut again for a tight seal.
