Part 1624888 upgrades a Eureka or Sanitaire commercial upright from a threaded outer bag mount to the quick-latch system used elsewhere across the lineup. With the ring installed, freeing a full bag takes one motion instead of unscrewing a fitting while the loaded bag dangles off the machine and risks spilling mid-shift.
Across a cleaning crew running several machines every night, that saved motion adds up fast over the course of hundreds of bag swaps, and it means a mixed fleet can standardize on a single bag system rather than juggling two. Retiring the threaded mount also removes a joint that strips and cross-threads as it wears with heavy daily use, replacing it with a mount that has no threads left to wear out at all.
Once the ring is fitted, confirm it turns smoothly and locks with a clear, positive click before returning the machine to service, since a ring that binds partway through its travel usually points to a mount underneath that has not fully seated.
