Product details
A latch that will not catch can be the latch itself or the housing that carries it, and this part is the housing. It is stocked as B223-4014 for the Titan T500, the Riccar R10S and the Clean Max ZM800.
The case holds the latch mechanism in position, so once it cracks or wears where the latch bears against it, the latch stops catching reliably and a panel that should stay shut pops loose or rattles in use. A case that looks intact from the outside can still have worn enough where it carries that load to let the latch travel further than it should. Because that wear is not obvious on a visual check, a loose panel often gets blamed on the latch while the case underneath it is what has actually given up.
- Part: B223-4014 latch case
- Fits: Clean Max ZM800, Riccar R10S, Titan T500
- Function: houses the latch mechanism that holds a panel or component closed
- Check: inspect the parts the latch meets while the case is out, since wear on either side produces the same loose panel
With the new case seated in the mounting position the old one came out of, work the latch through a full cycle several times, opening and closing the panel to confirm it catches cleanly and holds under normal handling. If the panel still sits proud once the new case is in, look at the surface the latch pulls against as well, because a sound case can only hold the latch true when what it closes onto is still flat and undamaged.
