A 12 inch brush roll, part D012-2800, for the lightweight uprights in this family: the Fuller Brush Spiffy Maid FB-SM, the Maytag M500, the Carpet Pro CP-ULW, the Zoom ZM-400, and the Riccar and Simplicity R10E, R10P, R10S, S10E and S10S. It also covers the F3300, F3300C, F3400, F3500, F3500C and F3600.
Light machines lean harder on their brush roll than heavy ones do, because there is less weight pressing the head down into the carpet. Worn bristles show up fast as a result: pet hair sits where it was, the pile does not lift, and the head starts to sound like it is grinding.
Check the belt at the same time. A roll that has stalled under a slipping belt often has flat, melted bristles along one side, and fitting a new roll to a tired belt simply repeats the problem.
