This replacement brush insert measures 4.5 inches, the short length, and fits the Riccar R10CV.6 as well as the Clean Max ZM800. The insert slides into a channel on the brush roll to provide a fresh row of bristles, so you can restore agitation without buying a whole new roller. Its bristles reach into the carpet to loosen embedded dirt.
Brush insert bristles flatten, splay, and wear down with use, and once they no longer make firm contact the roller stops lifting dirt from the pile. Tangled hair and thread speed that wear along. Sliding in a fresh insert brings the roller's cleaning ability back at a fraction of the cost of a full replacement.
