Part 1606751 is the HEPA exhaust filter that sits after the motor on the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser uprights. It covers the 1650 series and the Pet Hair Eraser Turbo machines: the 2281, 2461, 2475, 2709, 2790 and 2817.
Everything the cyclone and the pre-motor filter miss ends up here, which on a pet vacuum means a steady load of fine dander and dust. As the pleats pack, the exhaust note rises, the machine runs hotter, and suction at the floor head fades even though the bin looks empty. Allergy sufferers usually notice the smell of the exhaust before they notice the airflow.
It sits behind a cover at the back of the machine, so there are no tools involved. Change it on a schedule rather than waiting for symptoms; by the time you can see the dust cake, it has been costing you airflow for weeks.
