Part 1616278 is the post-motor filter door on Bissell Pet Hair Eraser uprights, the hinged cover that closes over the exhaust filter at the back of the machine. It is not the filter itself; it is what holds the filter seated and keeps exhaust air routed through it.
A cracked door, a snapped tab or a latch that no longer clicks shut lets the cover sit proud, and air takes the easy route around the filter rather than through it. Owners usually notice dust on the exhaust side, a cover that pops open mid-clean, or a filter that will not stay put.
It fits the Bissell 2281, 2461, 2475 and 2817, and is catalogued against the 2281K and 22813. Fitting the correct door restores a closed, sealed exhaust path.
