Product details

Wear surfaces are meant to be sacrificial, and this is one of them. Part 2869HG is the light gray rubbing plate that the pile adjustment axle bears against on the SEBO ESSENTIAL G1, ESSENTIAL G2, ESSENTIAL G4 and ESSENTIAL G5 and on the 300 MECHANICAL and 350 MECHANICAL, absorbing friction that would otherwise be taken by the chassis itself.

SEBO draws it at position 124 on the 300/350 Mechanical sheet and at position 125 on the ESSENTIAL G4/G5, where the catalogue records the light gray finish in the part description. Every change of carpet height slides the axle across this face, and household grit does the rest: the plate develops flats and grooves, the axle drops into them, and the height setting starts to creep out of its notch while the knob feels notchy and rough to turn. Because the plate is the cheapest component in that stack, it is designed to give up first — the point of it is that the chassis does not.

Wipe the axle down before the new plate goes in so grit does not start cutting it straight away, and check the parts that share the load while the assembly is open: axle 2861, thrust members 2834 and 2833, spring 2867, clamp 2856 and axle clamp 2849. The matching light gray pile adjustment wheel is 5174HG and the knob on the G machines is 2862HG. Common searches include SEBO rubbing plate, pile adjustment wear plate and G series carpet height friction plate.
