This genuine OEM geared belt is built for the Maytag M700 upright vacuum. Unlike a simple stretch belt, a geared belt uses toothed engagement to transfer motor power to the brush roll with no slip, driving firm, consistent carpet agitation. It is the link that keeps the roller turning at full speed.
Belts wear and stretch over time even under normal use, and a failing belt lets the brush roll slow or stop while suction alone cannot clean carpet properly. A burning rubber smell or a brush roll that has quit spinning both call for an immediate change. A fresh belt restores full power to the roller.
