Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.
Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.
Shipping and refunds
For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Ordered as 178989S, this is the roller bearing assembly that lives in the slide bracket of a Kirby upright, the moving joint that lets the handle travel and holds it steady once it gets there. It is used right across the Generation family, from the Generation 3, G4, G5 and GSix through the Ultimate G and Diamond Edition and on into the Sentria, Sentria II, Avalir, Avalir 2 and Avalir Platinum.
A worn bearing gives itself away by feel and sound. The handle develops a slight looseness at the top of its travel, then a click each time you change direction, and the whole machine starts to feel less solid than it did. That play is also what allows the bracket to wear unevenly.
Fitting a new assembly takes the slop out of the joint and returns the handle to smooth, quiet motion. Replace it as soon as the clicking starts rather than waiting for the bracket to suffer.
