This genuine OEM Kenmore furniture guard (Part #KC10AEDCZV06) is the nozzle bumper for models 31230 and DU3017. It wraps the cleaning head to soften contact with furniture, walls, and baseboards during use.
Once this bumper hardens, cracks, or falls off, the nozzle scuffs trim and furniture and begins chipping its own edges with every bump. Installing the correct OEM guard puts the cushion back so the head can move along edges cleanly without leaving marks.
