This genuine OEM foam filter (part 561055106) fits the Kenmore DU2012 bagless upright, model DU2012 RPL. The foam element sits upstream of the motor, catching dust and larger debris so they never reach the motor while airflow stays strong through the machine.
Over time the foam packs with fine dust, and a clogged element restricts airflow, cuts suction, and adds heat and strain to the motor. Rinsing the foam or fitting a fresh one when it no longer cleans up brings back full airflow and reliable pickup.
