Hoover's Type Y HEPA bag, part AH10040, comes two to a pack and is built from three layers of Filtrate HEPA media rather than plain paper. It fits Hoover uprights that take a Type Y or Type Z bag, which covers the WindTunnel and T2 range: the CH50010 and CH54100 commercial machines, the U8125900, U8125960, U8135900, U8145900, U8150900, U8151900, U8153900, U8155900, U8157900, U8161900 and U8163900, and the UH30300, UH30302, UH30308, UH30601, UH30601CDI, UH30650, UH30650PC, UH30650VPC, UH30651 and UH30651PC.
The pleated construction is the point. A HEPA bag holds fine dust that a paper bag passes through to the filters, so the exhaust stays clean and the post-motor filter lasts longer, which is worth having in a house with allergies or a shedding dog.
Change the bag at around two-thirds full. Bags run out of airflow before they run out of room.
