This replacement control cable retainer screw (Part #21751010) anchors the control cable tube inside Hoover WindTunnel upright vacuums. The control cable adjusts brush roll height and suction.

If the retainer screw falls out, the control cable slides around freely and you lose reliable adjustment of the brush roll and suction settings. Threading in a fresh screw locks the cable tube back in position so the controls respond as intended. It is a small fastener that keeps a key adjustment working.
