The motor assembly for Hoover Power Drive WindTunnel uprights in the 6425/45 group, part 27212069. One detail matters before you order: this is the motor for machines built before July 2010. It covers the U64019RM, the U6423900 and U6425900, the U6430 through U6485 series, and the U6607900, U6616900, U6617900, U6625900, U6626900, U6630900, U6632900 and U6634900.
The failure is rarely sudden. A motor on its way out grinds or whines as the bearings dry, loses power under load, trips a breaker at start-up, or gives off the hot, sharp smell of windings breaking down. Power Drive machines work hard, and the motor is usually what decides how long one lasts.
Check your machine's build date against the July 2010 cutoff first, then clear the fan chamber and reseat the gaskets while the motor is out.
