This solution tank, part 440014441, is the replacement reservoir for Hoover Smart Wash carpet cleaners built before April 2023, covering the FH52023V, FH53000, FH53000CPC, FH53000PC, FH53000PDI and FH53000TV1. The tank holds the water and cleaning solution mix the machine puts down on the carpet as you clean.
A tank that has cracked along a seam, warped where it seats, or lost its gasket will let solution seep out instead of reaching the spray path. A wet trail behind the machine, a chemical smell near the base, or solution that runs out faster than expected are the usual signs. Swapping in a sound tank restores a sealed reservoir so the solution goes where it is supposed to.
