The debris door spring (Part #38335026) is a replacement spring for the Hoover Fold-Away and EmPower uprights. It fits Fold-Away models U5172-900, U5175-900, and UH40155, plus EmPower models U5262-910, U5265-900, and U5269-900. The spring keeps the nozzle's debris door snapped shut and lets it open when a large object needs to pass.
If the spring breaks, the door hangs open and air bypasses the normal path, so suction drops away at the nozzle. A new spring returns the door to firm, self-closing action and rebuilds the seal the airpath depends on.
