The trunnion mount is the pivot the handle turns on when a Hoover Fold Away folds down. Part 36131118 replaces it on the U5163 and across the range of Fold Away and WindTunnel machines built around the same handle joint.
Fold Away handles get folded and unfolded constantly, and the mount is where all that movement concentrates. Worn or cracked, it develops play: the handle wobbles in your hand, the fold action loses its definite stop, and the slop transfers stress into the housing around it.
Fitment covers the Hoover C1660 and C1660900, the U5161900 through U5177900 Fold Away series, the U5260900, U5262910, U5263900 and the U5265900 to U5269900 range, and the UH40155. Check the model number on the data plate before ordering, since neighbouring Hoover series use different mounts.
