Product details
Actuator and pedal pin for Hoover 3441-series canisters, part 38458002. It is the pivot pin the foot pedal turns on, and it fits a long run of machines: the S3275, S3277, S3279, S3281 and S3283, the S3475 through S3505, and the S3575, S3585, S3595, S3605 and the S3623 to S3635 models.
A pin this small gets no attention at all until the pedal starts to feel wrong. Wear or a slight bend gives the pedal side-to-side play, so it goes down at an angle, misses the mechanism it is meant to trip, and needs a second or third press to do anything. Owners describe it as a pedal that has gone sloppy.
The new pin slides into the pivot during reassembly and takes the slack straight out. Check the pedal bore at the same time, since a pin that wore out once had help doing it.
