This OEM Thermal Protection Switch guards the motor in the Carpet Pro SCBP1.2 backpack vacuum against overheating. The safety device automatically cuts power to the motor when operating temperature climbs past its safe limit, then allows a reset once the unit cools.
If your vacuum shuts off during use and runs again after cooling for 20 to 30 minutes, a failing thermal switch is a likely cause. A switch that trips early or erratically interrupts cleaning and can leave the motor unprotected. Because calibration matters here, fitting the correct OEM switch keeps the cutoff accurate.
