This six-inch nozzle assembly with its brush strip, part 2036654, is the working head of a Bissell portable deep cleaner. The brush strip runs along the leading edge and agitates the fabric or carpet as you draw the nozzle back, while the opening behind it lifts the solution out again.
Nozzles are consumables in all but name. The body cracks, the brush strip flattens, and the lip that should seal against the surface wears until the tool skips and chatters instead of gliding. The symptom is a head that sprays properly but leaves carpet soaked, because it is no longer recovering what it puts down.
