Product details
Bissell's Style 10 filtration comes as a pair, and this two-pack holds both pieces: one wrap-around foam filter and one post-motor filter. Part F940.
It fits the 3574 and the 6579-1, and the rest of the Style 10 uprights: 6579-3, 6582, 6583, 6584, 6585, 6596, 82H1, 84G9 and 95P1.
The wrap-around sits against the dirt container and catches what gets past the primary stage; the post-motor filter cleans the air on its way out of the machine. Foam ages whether you wash it or not. It goes brittle, then it collapses under suction, and a collapsed filter blocks the airflow it was there to pass. If yours has gone yellow-gray, feels crumbly at the edges, or no longer springs back after a rinse, replace both pieces together.
