The Style 10 post-motor exhaust filter for Bissell PowerForce bagless uprights, part 2031194. It is the filter fitted to the 6594 and shared with the 6579 series, the 6582, 6583 and 6584.
On a bagless machine the exhaust filter catches everything that survives the cyclone and the pre-motor stage, plus the carbon dust the motor makes itself. That is why it darkens so quickly. As it packs, the motor has to push its cooling air through a denser and denser mat, and the result is a vacuum that runs hot, sounds strained and smells faintly of hot dust after it is switched off.
This is a genuine Bissell filter and it drops into the exhaust housing without tools. If yours has never been changed, it is overdue.
