Part 040033 is the control module for Titan central vacuum power units, the TCS5702 and the TCS6602, and the same module covers the Electrolux E130A, the E130J and the 1590. It carries the alternate reference 17-8018-04.
The module reads the low-voltage signal from the wall inlets and tells the power unit to run. When it fails the symptoms are electrical rather than mechanical: the unit does not start when a hose is plugged in, or it starts and will not stop, or it responds on some inlets and not others. The motor itself is usually fine, which is exactly why the module is worth replacing.
Central vacuum power units are built to last decades, so a control board swap is a sensible repair on a unit that is otherwise sound. Cut power at the breaker before opening the housing, since the module sits on the mains side of the unit.
