SEBO Switch Cap for AUTOMATIC X4, X7 and X8 — Silver

Silver-finished SEBO uprights use cap 5160SB over the power switch, and it is the broadest-fitting version of this moulding: the AUTOMATIC X4, X4 Boost, X7 Premium, X7 Pet and X8 all take it. The cap presses on over the rocker and holds by its own lugs, so nothing has to be unscrewed to change one.

Because it is the contact point for every start and stop, this cap wears and cracks long before the switch beneath it does. The tell-tales are a rim that has gone chalky and rough, a hairline running from one of the lugs, or a press that no longer feels definite. Renewing the cap on its own is far cheaper than replacing a switch assembly that has been fouled by carpet dust, and it takes a minute with the machine unplugged. Silver makes the wear easy to read: the moulding dulls where thumbs and shoes land while the rest of the cap keeps its sheen.
