SEBO Sealing Strip for SOFTCASE CE12 Upright — 259 mm

Fine grit left standing in the pile, and a nozzle that skates over the carpet rather than gripping it, are the classic signs of a spent base seal. Part 5400-4 is the replacement sealing strip for the SOFTCASE CE12, cut to 259 mm so it spans the full width of that machine's brush housing and closes the floor-side gap in the suction path.

SEBO gives it as position 153 in the SOFTCASE CE12 exploded diagram, listed there as "Sealing strip SOFTCASE, 259 mm". Its neighbours on that sheet describe what it is sealing against: the air separator 75097UL at position 158 and the air channel cover 75120SE at 154, drawn in gray black and orange, with air guide 75102ER at position 5 further along the path and the filter bag pack 75175AM at position 20 — that last entry decodes as eight of the 75150 bag rather than a single item. Either side of the brush chamber sit the bearing blocks, 75114GS on the right hand and 75113 on the left, with pile adjustment axle 75095 at position 146. Everything the machine lifts crosses the lip of this strip first.

While the base is apart, note the trap that catches CE12 orders: the sheet carries two toothed belts of the same profile in different lengths, 2923 at position 125 as the 333 HTD 3M 6 and 75098 at position 151 as the 318 HTD 3M 6. They are not alternatives to one another. The seal itself wears down with every pass over carpet and hard floor, and once it thins, air is drawn in around the edges of the nozzle instead of through the dirt. Swapping it is a quick job and one of the cheapest ways to bring a tired SOFTCASE back to full pickup.
