The Sanyo upright bottom plate tension spring is a replacement leaf spring that fits all Sanyo upright vacuum bottom plates. This small piece of spring steel is what holds the bottom plate snug against the base of the machine, keeping the plate latched securely and the airflow path sealed around the brush roll.
When the spring fatigues or goes missing, the bottom plate loosens, rattles, or pops off during use. That loose fit lets air leak around the nozzle, which shows up as weaker pickup on carpet even though the motor sounds fine. Replacing the tension spring restores a firm latch and brings the seal back.
Because this spring is a universal fit across Sanyo upright bottom plates, there is no need to match it to a specific model number. It is an easy part to overlook and an easy one to install, and it makes a real difference in how an older Sanyo upright performs.
