This OEM Sanitaire brush roll bearing and cover (Part #A07495201) fits the S5000 series. The bearing supports one end of the brush roll so it spins freely, while the cover seals the end cap against hair and debris.
Bearings wear and dry out over time, and a failing one squeals, vibrates, or lets the brush roll slow and wobble, which weakens carpet agitation. A cracked cover lets string wrap the shaft and accelerates the damage. Replacing the bearing and cover together restores quiet, true rotation and full pickup.
