A squeal or wobble from the brush roll of a Sanitaire SC5500A usually traces back to the end bearing. Part A07495201 pairs that brush roll bearing with its protective cover, and fits the Sanitaire and Eureka SC5500A and SC5505A commercial uprights.
The bearing supports one end of the brush roll so it spins freely; the cover seals the end against the hair and thread that would otherwise wind straight into it. As the bearing dries out and wears, the roll gets loud, vibrates, and slows under load — and slower brushing shows up immediately as weaker carpet agitation. A cracked cover speeds the whole decline by letting debris reach the shaft.
Replace the pair together: strip the wound hair off the roll end, seat the new bearing, and snap the cover over it. Check that your machine is an SC5500A or SC5505A before ordering.
