It fits the Electrolux-Eureka S5000, the Eureka S5000A, SC5500A, SC5500B and SC5505A, and the same numbers badged Sanitaire: S5000A, SC5500A, SC5500B and SC5505A.
A belt that has stretched or glazed over stops gripping, so the roller turns slowly or stalls under carpet load while the motor keeps running at full speed. Look for a shiny hardened face, cracks across the ribs, a loop that no longer springs back when it is stretched between two fingers, and the smell of hot rubber after a few minutes of use. None of those need the belt to have snapped before they are worth acting on.
