Vacuflo Central Vacuum Rela...

Product details

Part 7090 handles the relay function across a wide range of Vacuflo power units for a whole-home central vacuum. Every wall inlet sends a low-voltage signal back to this component, and its job is to close the higher-voltage circuit that actually gets the motor spinning, so it sits right at the point where inlet-side signal wiring hands off to the motor's own circuit.

When this part fails, the machine can seem completely dead even though it is not. A hose plugged into an inlet may produce no response whatsoever, the unit may fire from some inlets but stay silent at others, or it may click audibly and then lose the connection once the motor takes on load. Because those symptoms mimic a burned-out motor so closely, this part gets overlooked and a working motor sometimes gets replaced first, which solves nothing.

Coverage stretches across most of the Vacuflo lineup: the Bud 5807 and 9915 units, the CV950 and DD models, and the older 260, 360, and 460 power units. That reach shows how many Vacuflo generations kept the same core switching hardware.

Central vacuum housings carry line voltage inside them, so shut off the circuit breaker feeding the unit first, well before removing any cover to reach this part, and hand the repair to a technician if working around exposed household wiring is not something you are comfortable doing. Once it is swapped, run the system from more than one inlet before buttoning the housing back up, since a fault that looked confined to a single inlet sometimes turns out to be intermittent and shows up differently depending on which circuit happens to be drawing power at that moment.
