This genuine OEM ProTeam motor compression ring (part #100335) ships with its mounting screws and secures the motor at the tail of the backpack unit. The ring clamps the motor in place and helps maintain the seal around it.
A cracked or loose compression ring lets the motor shift and vibrate, which adds noise, stresses the mounts, and can break the seal around the motor. Left loose, the movement accelerates wear. A sound ring holds the motor firmly and keeps it sealed in position.
