This is the primary filter for Beam central vacuum power units, part 110346, listed for the Beam 2775 and also fitted to the Beam 2370. It hangs inside the canister and screens dust out of the airstream before it reaches the motor.
A central vacuum filter fails quietly. Nothing breaks; the fabric simply loads with fine dust until air can no longer pass through it freely. What you notice at the inlets upstairs is a slow decline in pull, and what happens down at the power unit is a motor running hotter and longer than it should to move the same air.
Swapping the filter is a canister-lid job with no tools involved. Check the model number on the power unit before ordering, and empty the dirt canister while it is open.
