Product details
When a Kenmore vacuum shuts itself off partway through a room and comes back to life twenty minutes later, this is the part doing it. The overload protector, Kenmore number KC76KDGSZ000, is a thermal reset switch that cuts current to the motor when the motor starts drawing more than it should.
It fits a wide run of Kenmore machines: the 21814, 31150, 81214, 81414, 81614 and 81714, the BC4002, BC4026 and BC4027, the BU1005 and BU1018, and the Panasonic MC-UG729.
Worth knowing before you order: a protector that trips is often doing its job. Check for a full bag, a loaded filter or a blocked hose first, because those make the motor work hard enough to trip a healthy switch. Replace the protector when the vacuum will not restart at all once it has cooled, or when it trips straight away on a machine whose airways are clear.
