The bottom plate is the underside of an Oreck Pilot upright, the panel the machine rides on with the nozzle opening cut through it. Part 09-79049-51 replaces it on U7000 and U7200 Pilot models, and it is also referenced as 09-79049-55.
Plates warp and crack. When they do, the head no longer sits flat, so brush contact varies from one side of the strip to the other and the seal against the floor breaks down. Air pulled in around a cracked plate is air not pulled through the carpet, which is why a machine with a damaged plate can have a perfectly healthy motor and still leave lines behind.
It fits the U7200ECB, U7210ECB, U7210ECR, U7211ECB, U7211ECG, U7211ECP, U7211ECR, U7212ECB, U7220ECS, U7230ECS, U7240ECS, U7241ECS, U7250ECS, U7300ECB and U7330ECBS. Check the wheels and brush roll while the plate is off.
